In a midweek update, Wawa officials are outlining new safety measures that they're implementing along with offering free coffee to first responders.

This time last week, Wawa laid out a number of new procedures to help slow the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus, including closing the self-serve soda fountain and having employees serve customers coffee instead of self service.

In this week's update, a press release on Wawa's website outlines a number of new safety measures, including, "visual floor markers" to remind customers to keep a distance from each other and "clear, plastic shields" at checkouts.

They're also joining Starbucks in offering free coffee to those working the hardest during the coronavirus emergency, saying that, "all of our stores will be providing all health care workers and first responders with free coffee to fuel their shifts during this crisis."
