SUEZ says, via Facebook, that the leak is centered 707 Main Street, and the affected area stretches about a block, between Colfax and Seward. Traffic is being detoured around the spot.

The company says that customers are being notified in person, door-to-door. In the vicinity outlined by the utility are a florists's shop, a funeral parlor, a parochial preschool, a dermatology center and a small restaurant.

A SUEZ spokesperson did not speculate on the cause of the leak or the time frame for repairs, but said that it does not rise to the criticality level of a boil advisory. An inquiry regarding the possible number of customers without water, and contingencies if so, drew no immediate response.
