WATCH LIVE: Hometown Heroin Town Hall at Ocean County College
WATCH LIVE BEGINNING AT 7PM:
92.7 WOBM-FM and Beach Radio 1160/1310 WOBM-AM present "Hometown Heroin: A Townsquare Tonight Town Hall Event," 7 - 8 PM in OCC's Grunin Center on the Toms River campus. The hour will be streamed on our sites and simulcast.
The dais includes Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph Coronato and Sheriff Mike Mastronardy; John Brogan, the Toms River dad whose Narcan rescue led him to become the most ardent proponent of New Jersey's Opioid Overdose Recovery Program; Steve Willis, co-founder of Hope Sheds Light, connecting drug abusers to treatment programs; and Anthony Castellano, Vice-President of Substance Abuse Services for Preferred Behavioral Health Group.
WOBM News's Vin Ebenau moderates the discussion, touching on the indescribable allure of opiates, the trap of addiction for pain-management patients, rooting out dealers and cutting off supplies, advances in rehabilitation for restoring and mending lives - and the role you can play in stemming the tide of drug dependence.
Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions directly from the floor of the Center, or to jot questions onto file cards for possible inclusion in the proceedings. Viewers can also Tweet questions @WOBM, directly to the moderator's podium.
Attendees who wish to engage one or more of the panelists in a private setting will have access to space in the Center.
If you are unable to attend, listen or view "Hometown Heroin" as it takes place, the program will remain on our web pages and our Youtube channel.
