Union Beach man charged with lewdness in Middletown
Reports of a man fondling himself in his car, which reached Middletown police on November 30 and December 2, lead to the arrest of a suspect in Union Beach, and investigators believe there might be more victims.
Albin F. Wicki, 26, was charged on December 14 with endangering the welfare of a child, two counts of criminal sexual contact, and two counts of lewdness, police said. He was released after satisfying $60,000 bail with a 10-percent option.
Two alleged victims have come forward, one under age 18, police said. In both instances, they were walking, though police did not offer details of the location.
They told investigators that Wicki drove alongside them slowly, exposed his genitals and masturbated in full view, then drove away.
Police did not offer details regarding the streets involved, times of day, make and model of Wicki's car, or whether the alleged victims were alone. However, investigators are looking into the possibility of more instances.
They urge anyone wishing to file a complaint to reach Detective Keith Hirschbein, or Detective First Class Darrin Simon, of the MIddletown PD Special Victims Unit: 732-615-2120.
Charges are accusations. Defendants are presumed innocent unless, and until, found guilty in a court of law.
