
Two Shore Towns Share One Police Chief
The borough of Ocean Gate is sharing its police chief with neighboring Pine Beach. The two towns will split Chief Reece Fisher's salary 50-50 through December 31, 2017. As part of the 3-year agreement, Chief Fisher will be paid $145k in 2015, $150k in 2016, and $155 in 2017 according to borough officials.
Mayor Paul Kennedy said the decision to entered into the shared service agreement with Pine Beach will save Ocean Gate an estimated $60,000 to $70,000 a year. Pine Beach Police Chief John Sgro retired and moved to sunny Florida.
