Stafford Police are investigating a two car crash Monday morning on Route 9 near Silo Road that caused significant damage to both vehicles.

Investigators say Christopher Longo, 38, of Barnegat was heading north in a Honda Accord trying to go around a vehicle on the shoulder when he struck Patricio Lozano, 25, of Manahawkin who was turning left onto Silo Road.

Both vehicles sustained significant damage and had to be towed from the scene.

The Stafford Township Volunteer Fire Department cleaned up the gas in the roadway, as a result of the impact sustained to Lozano's vehicle.

Police say that everyone in the vehicles were believed to be wearing their seatbelts at the time of this crash.

Patrolman Jillson is the investigating officer, and the accident is still under investigation.
