According to police, Adam Daniel, 49, of Hackensack, wore a seat restraint and suffered a minor hand injury in the crash that was reported at 10:46 AM Monday.

Daniel's commercial, unladen, 2025 Isuzu box truck spun off the westbound side of the highway and into the woods near mile marker 37, outside the township public works grounds, police said. He declined medical aid.

The crash forced police to close a stretch of the highway for about an hour. Whiting volunteer first aiders assisted. Patrolman Ian Bole of the traffic safety division is continuing the investigation.
