Toms River Little League Softball Team Wins Big At The World Series

The Toms River Girls Softball team has now experienced the agony of defeat and now the thrill of victory, following a big day Tuesday in Greenville, North Carolina, at the Little League Softball World Series.

In their first game of the Little League Softball World Series, the Girls from TR played a close game against the Asia-Pacific Champion from Japan. Unfortunately for Toms River, they came up short in a 4-1 loss to the Japanese girls.

In their second game, the Girls from TR came out blazing and had the thrill of winning at the World Series with a 13-3 win over the New England Champ from Bristol, Connecticut.

So now the Toms River Girls have experienced everything at the World Series with both a win and a loss. They have made us all proud, and now they face their third game, and it's a rematch with the Girls from Japan. The Japanese team defeated the Western Division Champs from California and won a close one.

So now it's the Mid-Atlantic Champs from Toms River vs. the Asia-Pacific Champs from Japan. The winner advances, and the loser heads home.

The game is Wednesday, August 5th, at 10 am and will be broadcast on ESPN 2 once again.
