Toms River Police made a pair of drug related arrests while conducting surveillance in the eastern part of town on Tuesday.

It was members of their Special Enforcement Team, Toms River Police spokeswoman Jillian Messina said, who observed suspicious activity leading to the arrests.

Jameer Jones, 26, of Toms River was found in possession of about 202 grams of cocaine and packaging material when he was pulled over and police conducted an investigation.

A short time later, Gregory Deas, 47, of Asbury Park was pulled over in what police said was related to the first traffic stop they made with Jameer Jones.

Deas was found to be in possession of $33,703.00 in U.S. currency and following an investigation was also charged with obstructing the administration of law, resisting arrest, possession of cocaine and distribution of over 5 ounces of cocaine.

Jameer Jones was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine over 5 ounces with the intent to distribute (first degree) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
