Toms River man hit by car while riding his bike near Hooper Avenue
A Toms River man is in stable condition after being hit by a car while he was trying to cross onto South Shore Driver from Hooper Avenue in the township Friday night around 11:18 pm.
Toms River Police say their preliminary investigation found that 20-Year old Moshe Ehrman of Toms River was riding his bicycle in left lane on Hooper Ave and was attempting to cross the road when he was struck by Honda CRV driven by 71-year old Sandra Applegate of Lakewood.
Ehrman suffered a serious head trauma and was flown to Jersey Shore Medical Center in serious but stable condition.
The crash is under investigation by Toms River Traffic Officer PJ Gambardella.
The public is reminded that criminal charges are accusations only. Every criminal defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
