Toms River man charged with sexual assault of a minor
A Toms River man has been charged with the sexual assault of a minor with the victim also under 13-years old, announced Toms River Police Chief Mitch Little and Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer in a joint release.
On February 11, Toms River Police began an investigation into allegations of sexual assault involving a victim, less than 13 years-old, by defendant Robert E. Bell, 28, of Toms River.
The investigation continued alongside the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victim’s Unit which revealed that Bell had been engaging in a sexual relationship with the victim since June of 2018.
On February 15, Bell was arrested and charged with four counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault in violation of N.J.S.A.2C:14-2a, five counts of Sexual Assault in violation of N.J.S.A.2C:14-2b, and seven counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child in violation of N.J.S.A.2C:24-4.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
