Toms River man arrested for theft at Newark Airport
A 38 year old Toms River resident was arrested at Newark Liberty International Airport on Friday morning after police say he stole $1,000 from a traveler's wallet while going through security screening.
Steven Testa was charged with theft by unlawful taking according to Port Authority Police at Newark Liberty.
Police responded to Terminal C at about 7am after a traveler reported $1,000 in cash was missing from his wallet while the wallet was in a screening bin.
Testa is a carpenter who was doing work at the airport and had a gate pass allowing him to move freely around the airport.
$850 was in Testa's boot and the remaining $150 in his pocket.
