Teen Charged In Shooting At The Ocean County Mall In Toms River

It was a story this week that shocked residents in Toms River and around Ocean County. A shooting at the Ocean County Mall on Hooper Avenue in Toms River left a teenager injured.

According to reports, the teen, 17 years old, suffered a facial wound. According to Patch, "The 17-year-old boy who was shot remains hospitalized at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, where he is listed as stable, the prosecutor's office said."

Who Was Arrested In Connection With The Shooting At The Ocean County Mall?

Another teen was arrested in connection with the shooting. The teen is now being held at the Ocean County Juvenile Detention Center.

According to Patch, the teen shooter is being charged "with attempted murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon". This, according to the Ocean County Prosecutors' Office.

An investigation is ongoing as authorities sort through this senseless act of violence.
