In a heartbreaking story, the family of 2020 Toms River High School East graduate and standout hockey player Aidan Inteso have shared news of his sudden passing.

Aidan was just getting started on his post-high school career, as a freshman at Ursinus College in Pennsylvania.

According to a GoFundMe page that his family has set up, Aidan was planning to study business and environmental studies in college and had hopes of someday working for the National Parks Service.

NJ.com reports that Aidan was the captain of the hockey team, played lacrosse, and was an exceptional student, having been awarded the Gateway Academic Scholarship as well as being a recipient of Ursinus College's prestigious Abele Scholarship.

The family's GoFundMe page says that Aidan passed last Sunday, September 13th due to complications from an undiagnosed cardiomegaly.

A popular student athlete, there will be a 4:30 P.M. memorial service to honor Aidan on Sunday (September 20th) at Huddy Park in downtown Toms River.

The GoFundMe page has been set up to help create the Aidan M. Inteso Memorial Scholarship.

According to the campaign page:

The annual Scholarship will be given to a Toms River High School graduate who is pursuing a 4 year degree at Ursinus College. The recipients will exemplify the extraordinary qualities that Aidan lived his life by.
