Sometimes, when you walk into a place you just know you're going to like it. And when I walked into this Toms River eatery, that's exactly how I felt.

The first time I went in there, the first thing I noticed was how the staff was calling people by their first names. Not one or two of them, but all of them.

The place I'm talking about is Cindy's Fast Break, right on Route 37 in Toms River. I ordered a Reuben to go, which was outstanding, by the way. And it was made quickly and everyone was really attentive and polite.

So, of course, I went back about a week later, and there was a completely different group enjoying lunch, but it seemed like the staff still knew most of the names. This place really is a true neighborhood grill.

This time around I gave the Cuban sandwich a try, and it was just as good as the Reuben I had the week before. That's two for two.

The one thing I haven't tried yet is the breakfast, and that's only because of my work schedule, but I bet it's delicious, since everything I've eaten so far there is.

So, if you love a neighborhood environment, really good food, and a staff that treats you like family, then I definitely suggest a quick stop at Cindy's Fast Break.

They are located at 1635 Route 37 East in Toms River, and they are open Monday through Sunday from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm.

No matter what mood to walk in with, you'll walk out with a smile on your face.
