Tis The Season for Movies & Christmas Classic
Another wet weekend which seems par for the course since the early part of July. At least it was not cold enough for snow.
Only one more shopping weekend before Christmas and the last week for those who have not purchased their “live” Christmas tree which is the way to go. Sure it’s can be a pain in the neck and takes a lot longer than an artificial one but to me as long as I’m putting a tree up it will be a real one.
Last Friday I did a segment on some of my favorite holiday movies and over the weekend we watched a trio of them. Friday it was National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation and Saturday a doubleheader: The Holiday in the afternoon and Love Actually at night. If that won’t get you in the Christmas spirit than nothing will.
WOBM Christmas Classic week is here. This morning we have the annual “Tipoff Breakfast” at the Clarion Hotel & Conference Center in Toms River with about 270 players, coaches and guests attending the annual event.
The Clarion has been hosting the breakfast for more than twenty years as a way to bring the high school athletes together before the tournament begins. The 35th annual WOBM Christmas Classic officially gets underway this weekend with the girls to play their first round games on Saturday and the boys to follow on Sunday.
Another early Christmas present for Mets fans with the news they have agreed on a two-year deal with two-time All-Star catcher Wilson Ramos who when healthy is one of the top players at the position.
Of course in the “half-empty” world of being a Mets fan we won’t be surprised when he misses half the year with an injury.
Turning to football: so much for the Giants offensive revival and that was quite a road victory by the Eagles last night with the magical Nick Foles at quarterback.
How long before we hear about another departure from President Trump’s White House? The William Hill Sports Book should post odds on that.
