I haven't ever taken the time to count them, but there must be a thousand Italian restaurants in the Garden State, and well over 990 of them are awesome, and about the same number are somebody's favorite.

So, how in the world could you narrow down a state full of great Italian dishes? Well, it can't be easy to do, but it must be incredibly fun to research.

So, who was brave enough to name the restaurant with the best pasta dish in New Jersey? It's the well-respected Eat This, Not That, and their search ended in Newark.

It's hard to argue great Italian food from Newark, and people have been raving about the pasta from Mercato Tomato Pie for decades, and that is the restaurant being honored for the best pasta dish in New Jersey.

Eat This, Not That says that customers love all the pasta there and that they highly recommend the Creamy Pesto Sauce. Say no more. You had me at creamy.
