This Iconic New Jersey Hot Dog Diner Is Part Of Jersey History
I love a good hot dog, in fact, if I'm at a BBQ I'll grab a hot dog before the hamburger. The perfect hot dog is spicy brown mustard, chili, and chopped onion. When I was in High School I ran an ice cream truck in the summer and often at the beach I'd be parked next to a hot dog truck. Every time that summer I was with him I'd get a dog—mustard, chili, and onion. Needless to say, half my paycheck went to his truck lol. Ah the memories, now I want a hot dog!
I didn't know this but there is actually a "hot dog diner" here in New Jersey and it's a historic eatery. According to Only In Your State, "the best New Jersey hot dogs come from a humble little diner in Clifton. Hot Grill in Clifton, New Jersey has been slinging dogs Texas Wiener-style since 1961, and this New Jersey institution isn't changing things up any time soon."
So what's the story behind Hot Grill in Passaic County? "This place has been around since 1961, and honestly, it looks it. We like it that way - it's just like New Jersey, a little rough around the edges but packed with goodness. Hot Grill is rustic but still roomy, with plenty of places to sit and eat and lots of old-school charm."
