Earlier this month we told you about the Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing of young adult clothing chain Forever 21, which has two Jersey Shore stores.

The original report just said that they will close, "...a number" of their 800 locations, but at the time specific stores weren't identified.

That's changed in the last few days, however, with the company naming almost 200 stores that could close, and just over 100 that will close.

According to USAToday, these are the New Jersey Forever 21 stores that were identified earlier this month in a list of 178 stores that could close:

  • East Brunswick
  • Cherry Hill
  • Deptford
  • Mays Landing
  • East Hanover
  • Short Hills

The list was further narrowed down just this week, zeroing in on 111 stores that will close, including the following NJ locations:

  • East Hanover
  • Short Hills

So, for now, it looks like the two Jersey Shore locations of Forever 21 are safe, with neither the Ocean County Mall or Monmouth Mall locations on the lists, but the story notes that, "...additional locations may close".

We'll of course keep you updated as more specific locations pegged for closure for Forever 21, plus Bed Bath & Beyond and Pier 1, are made public.
