According to Espresso "While the impact of humans can be seen and felt nearly every place on earth, there are still some spots where wildlife and natural beauty persist. These untouched, often protected wilderness areas are located throughout the entire country, and offer a chance for people to reconnect with nature. In alphabetical order, here are the wildest places in every state."

For New Jersey, the Edwin B Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge was selected as our "wildest" place in the Garden State. According to their website "Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge protects more than 48,000 acres of southern New Jersey coastal habitats. More than 82 percent of Forsythe refuge is wetlands, of which 78 percent is salt marsh, interspersed with shallow coves and bays. The refuge’s location in one of the Atlantic Flyway’s most active flight paths makes it an important link in seasonal bird migration." I have been to the Oceanville Park location many times and have done some great bird-watching from this location. I also spotted the largest turtle I have ever seen in the wild before, this turtle looked like a prehistoric leftover. I was an amazing site and I was happy to get some photos.

Espresso had this to say about the refuge "The Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge in New Jersey is named in honor of the late conservationist Congressman from the state, and was previously two distinct refuges, before they merged in 1984." If you are looking for a place to have an adventure in New Jersey be sure to check out the Edwin B Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge.
