In what looks like a "there one day, gone the next" situation, a long time fast food stop on one of Ocean County's busiest roads has closed up shop.

The Burger King on Fischer Boulevard in Toms River has removed the signs and locked the doors for good.

All the credit goes to my colleague Andy Chase on our sister station 105.7 The Hawk for noticing the now empty burger joint and snapping some photos.

While there was no official statement or explanation of the closing that happened about a week ago, a note posted on the window at the drive-through thanked customers and encouraged them to visit the Burger King on Route 37.

"Thank you for your business throughout the years! Please visit us at our other Burger King location at 44 Route 37 East, Toms River"

With all of the signage totally gone, I think it's safe to say that it's closed for good.
