If you spend a lot of time stopping in to the U.S. Post Office on West Water Street in Toms River, you might soon be heading a few miles down Hooper Avenue instead.

A recent redevelopment plan that's gotten the thumbs up from both the township council and planning board could see the Post Office moving to a location near the Seacourt Pavilion, with the current space on West Water Street becoming a high-rise residential building.

According to the Asbury Park Press, the redevelopment plan is pretty big, with not only a new Post Office off of Hooper Avenue, but it would also include a VA Clinic, fire station, and multiple residential lots rounding out the 22-acre property.

Once the Post Office relocates, one proposal calls for the West Water Street property to become an apartment building.
