The Basie Adds 2 More Drive-In Events at Monmouth Park

Drive-in shows are a great way to see live events from your car! The first couple that The Basie offered sold out quickly...so I'm sure these two will, also.

These two large-scale events live on stage at Monmouth Park in Oceanport will be fantastic! Gates open at 5 pm, shows start at 7 pm, 4 people per vehicle max.

On Wednesday, July 29, it's with ALMOST QUEEN!

And then on Thursday, July 30, it's comedian ILIZA SCHLESINGER’s ‘ The Forever Tour.'

Tickets for both Almost Queen ($110 per vehicle, $250 / $199 gold circle) and Iliza ($135 per vehicle,, $199 /$250 gold circle) go on sale this Thursday, July 2 at 10 am exclusively via Ticketmaster. These drive-in events benefit The Count Basie Center for the Arts with a portion of the proceeds going to the NJ Arts and Culture Recovery Fund.

Almost Queen is the most authentic Queen live show since the days of the beloved, iconic band itself. This is a 4-piece band complete with 4-part harmonies and intricate music, with the costumes that captures the essence of the experience of Queen. Almost Queen has, in the past, sold out Starland Ballroom and the Stone Pony Summer Stage!

Iliza is one of the leading comedians around whose fifth Netflix stand-up special UnVeiled premiered last November and delves into her journey of getting married! Her past specials include War Paint, Freezing Hot, and Confirmed Kills. Her previous Netflix special in 2018, Elder Millennial, is the subject of Iliza Shlesinger: Over & Over, her 'fan-u-mentary' which is currently streaming and gives you an inside look into what goes into the making of one of her specials.

Social distancing rules for The Basie Drive-In shows at Monmouth Park will include the following:

-- Vehicles will be spaced about 9-ft. apart (you can keep your windows open at this distance.)

-- Cars will be staggered when parked for spacing purposes and for maximum visibility.

-- You must remain inside your vehicle.

-- You may only leave your vehicle to use the restroom, and a mask will be required for that, as well as maintaining social distancing.

-- The portable restrooms will be cleaned between users.

Other rules and regulations:

-- Only passenger vehicles can enter. That means no motorcycles, buses, party vehicles, limos, bikes, or people entering on foot.

-- All tickets are general admission and spots can't be reserved.

-- These events are rain or shine.

-- The events will take place in the Grandstand General Parking Lot. You must enter at Port-au-Peck Ave (**see specific directions below.)

-- Concession info will be available soon. But alcohol will not be served.

-- Absolutely no tailgating or out-of-vehicle gathering will be allowed.

-- You'll be able to hear the concerts from the audio on stage and/or on your FM car radio. You'll receive these details the day of the show.

-- Cars with more than four people will be turned away without a refund.

-- Vehicles are subject to search.

-- No pets allowed.

** Directions: Take GSP Exit 105 to 36 East. Continue past Monmouth Mall, Best Buy and Bed Bath and Beyond on your right. After the ALDI supermarket, cross the next intersection and take the jughandle for 537 West / Monmouth Park Raceway Grandstand. Cross the highway and take 537 West (Eatontown Boulevard) past Wolf Hill Recreation Area to Port au Peck Avenue. Turn right. The Port Au Peck entrance to Monmouth Park will be on your right.
