The definition of miserable, according to Dictionary.com, "wretchedly unhappy, uneasy, or uncomfortable" So that doesn't sound like a fun city to live in does it? Maybe that's why Country Adventures chose the Top "13" Most Miserable Cities in America, this list includes one in New Jersey, Camden.
The Country Aventures article said "Misery loves company, and these cities have plenty of it. Based on various factors such as crime rates, economic struggles, and overall quality of life, these 13 cities stand out for their high levels of dissatisfaction among residents. From decaying infrastructure to rampant unemployment, each city has its own unique set of challenges that contribute to its residents’ unhappiness."
Camden was selected as one of the "13" and the article said this about the Camden County city "Camden, New Jersey, is notorious for its extreme poverty and high crime rates. Once a thriving industrial center, Camden now struggles with economic decline and a lack of job opportunities. The city’s schools are underfunded, and many residents live in substandard housing. Crime, particularly violent crime, is a significant concern, making Camden a challenging place to live and contributing to its residents’ overall sense of misery."
