Taking the Jab Against COVID-19
I have joined the growing ranks of those who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 after receiving my second dose of the Moderna vaccine last week.
Both my wife and I got our shots Thursday afternoon and by Friday morning she was dealing with flu-like symptoms. I thought I was in the clear as I came to work and felt fine until early in the afternoon when I started with a headache, some chills and that feeling like you’ve been run over by a small truck.
The good news was by Saturday morning we were much better and less than 48 hours after getting the shot all was good. I have talked to many people who have received the vaccine and it seems like in many cases with the second shot younger people have had more significant side effects while old-timers report little or no problems. Of course this should not stop anyone from getting vaccinated when they can.
It was a good weekend to stay inside and that’s what we did for most of it, celebrating Valentine’s Day by watching a bunch of movies. The list included When Harry Met Sally, Moonstruck, Casablanca, Sleepless in Seattle and You Got Mail. I can’t remember the last time I watched Casablanca from start to finish and two things stood out. Humphrey Bogart wore a white dinner jacket for the entire film and was rarely without a lit cigarette.
In a totally unrelated note:
The Lombardi Trophy is what is given to the team that wins the Super Bowl and probably next to the Stanley Cup is the most sacred of those awarded for winning a major team championship.
You might have seen where last week during a boat parade Tampa Bay’s Tom Brady threw the trophy from his boat to another which fortunately was caught and did not end up in the water. The daughter of the silversmith who made the original Lombardi trophy was very upset at this, saying it disgraced and disrespected the award and she demanded an apology.
She’s not getting one because like he always does in big spots Brady completed the pass, even though he was clearly “under the influence.”

It will be necessary for as many Americans as possible to be vaccinated in order to finally return to some level of pre-pandemic normalcy, and hopefully these 30 answers provided here will help readers get vaccinated as soon they are able.
