Sweet Ellie is Waiting Patiently; Pet of the Week

Ellie is hoping for a new home for the holidays.

Thanks to the Popcorn Park Zoo for telling us all about Ellie. Ellie is available for adoption from the Popcorn Park Zoo located at 1 Humane Way in Forked River, NJ. The Popcorn Park Zoo is open everyday, but the shelter to visit Ellie is closed due to Covid-19. Now, this doesn't mean you can't visit with Ellie, please just call 609-693-1900 for an appointment to meet with her or another animal in the rescue shelter at Popcorn Park.

Ellie is going on 6 years old now and this sweet girl is hoping that you'll look past her many scars and see her for who she really is- a loving, affectionate, friendly dog that is so deserving of a good life.  We'll never know what happened to Ellie in the past, but it couldn't have been a happy life that she lived prior to being found as a stray.  Ellie needs a home with no other pets, but she sure loves people.  She is an absolute doll.  A strong and active doll, but so well-behaved and sweet.  Ellie sits and lays down when she's asked and she's very gentle with taking treats and toys.  She is strong on a leash, but she takes direction well. Ellie would just love a home where she can plop on the couch with you at night and lay her head in your lap, and be loved by a good family forever.
