Suspect Sought in Toms River Credit Card Theft
The man suspected of ringing up charges with a stolen credit card in a Toms River shopping center last Monday remains outside the law. Police hope that surveillance photos will jog the memory of someone who can identify him.
According to police, the card belongs to a Community Medical Center worker who discovered that her wallet was missing on Monday, August 11.
The victim contacted the lender and learned that the card had been used at Staples and Spirits Unlimited in the shopping plaza at Routes 37 and 166, and at the Rite-Aid just across Route 166 from the mall.
Police said that the same individual appears in surveillance images from the stores.
He's described as a black male, with a medium build, in his 20s, with close-cropped hair and possibly an earring in his left earlobe. He was wearing a large white watch or bracelet on his right wrist and, on the day in question, a green tee-shirt bearing a "smiley" face image.
If you can identify him or supplement their information, contact Detective Robert O'Neill at 732-349-0150 or send a confidential message to their Facebook page.
