Thursday's event will feature several ceremonies in addition to the annual Troop Supply and Care Package Drive.  Now in its 11th year, IBEW Military Committee Chariman Pat O'Keefe says the effort is still going strong.

"The needs haven't changed, we're still doing our supply drive out front," O'Keefe said.  "Things have changed over the years with the game, there are more organizations who will come in."

Suggested donations include:

  • Baby wipes
  • Dry Soup Mixes
  • Batteries
  • Personal grooming items, like razors and toothbrushes
  • Non-Chocolate Candy
  • Magazines
  • Stationery and writing supplies

But O'Keefe says the personal touch also goes a long way.

"Even written thank-you letters, you know, to boost up some of the morale," O'Keefe said.  "There's nothing like getting a written thank-you letter when you open up a box from a complete stranger, it's really nice."

Military Appreciation night is set for Thursday, June 18, 2015.  If you can't make it to the game, the IBEW Local 400 also collects supplies year-round at their union hall, located on Highway 138 East in Wall.  You can drop off donations Monday through Friday between 8am and 4pm.
