If you consider the Friday of Memorial Day weekend as the unofficial start of summer then tomorrow is significant because it’s the halfway point from that date to Labor Day.  Boy do I find that depressing.

It’s just unfair that the 100 or so days of summer fly by so much faster than any other time of year.  For example there are 100 days between January 1 and April 11 yet that period feels like it will never end.  Of course weather has a lot of do with it and while I know some of you like winter and cold I could do without it…I was really meant to live in a warmer climate.

So for us summer lovers the days are flying by and if you have not noticed are getting shorter.  We have already lost 18 minutes of daylight since the first day of summer and we’ll lose another hour by this time next month.  More depressing news!

So why am I putting my “Mr. Negative” hat on and sharing this information with you?  Well no specific reason but I would imagine many of you at some point down the road will say “We were going to do that last summer and just never did.”

Well what are you waiting for?  There are 50 more days until Labor Day so you still have time to do at least some of the things you talked about last winter and spring.

Summer at the Jersey Shore is an amazing time and so often we “locals” don’t take advantage of all the fun things at our disposal.  And if you needed a reminder it’s only 108 days until Halloween.
