Summer car burglar in Lacey Township has been arrested
Stealing from a number of cars in the summer of 2017 leads to a Lacey Township man's arrest.
A lengthy police investigation into the early summer car burglaries lead to the identification Tuesday January 30 of 47-year old Lance Romano as the suspect now charged with the crimes that took place in the Barnegat Pines section.
Romano allegedly left enough of a foot trail behind where police were able to trace his steps and connected the string of burglaries to him.
Multiple residents in the Barnegat Pines section filed complaints with police.
In total, Romano faces eight counts of burglary and seven for theft.
He was arrested at a room he's renting in a Norwood Street home in the Forked River section of Lacey Township.
Lacey Detectives arrived at the home early Tuesday along with member of the Ocean County SWAT team and the Berkeley Township Detective Bureau.
Romano was released on his own recognizance in accordance with bail reform.
Detectives anticipate returning numerous pieces of stolen property to their owners.
