Many of us (and I am among them) have been saying that our spring seems to be getting shorter while our fall appears to be longer.  In other words it seems like we almost go from winter to summer because the period in between feels like it comes and goes so quickly.  If the forecasters are correct this weekend will feel very summer-like and I am sure many will head to the beach for the first time.  While it will be a bit cooler there it will certainly be a change from the chilly days that have been with us seemingly on a daily basis.

This is also the weekend before Memorial Day which of course is the unofficial start of summer and usually brings huge crowds to the Jersey Shore.  Almost all the seasonal businesses will be open and you won’t need a beach badge so it might not be a bad idea to bring your chair and find a quiet spot to relax…don’t plan on jumping in the ocean unless you’re comfortable in 50 degree water.

Heading to the beach or boardwalk is not an option for many whose weekends are taken up by their kid’s sports…baseball, softball, soccer, lacrosse and more.  At least you won’t be watching games with coats and gloves so that is a positive. This weekend is actually a bit of an aberration but we might as well enjoy it because it won’t be long before we’re complaining about traffic, tourists and more.
