Speed may have been a factor in two-car crash that sent Toms River man to hospital

A Toms River man is being treated for serious injuries at Jersey Shore University Medical Center following a car crash that took place on Brick Boulevard Monday night.

Police say that Kathleeen Kornas, 69, of Brick was turning left into the Bay Harbor Plaza parking lot when she struck Christopher Cincis who was heading northbound at the time and had the right of way on the road.

The 36-year old Toms River man was hospitalized with injuries to his lower extremity.

An investigation is underway and Brick Police's Traffic Safety Unit is looking into whether speed was a factor.

This accident is under investigation by Ptl. David Thergesen #249.
