Special Forces Troops Training At Fort Monmouth
Special Forces Command troops from Fort Bragg, N.C., have returned to New Jersey for training.
Residents who live near the former Fort Monmouth in Eatontown will hear helicopters at all hours. The drills begin Tuesday night and are schedule to run through Friday.
Eatontown Police Chief Michael Goldfarb tells the Asbury Park Press the Army troops will be doing the
majority of their training in other areas away from the fort.
In a notice at the top of the Eatontown borough website residents are asked not to call police as they have no information regarding the excercises including when they will end for the day.
Gunfire and explosions rattled residents during a training exercise in June which went beyond the base and into Long Branch for late night train excercises related to urban areas.
