Moms and dads have been emailing us and we have some answers for you if you're wondering. I never knew the difference between a blackout and brownout. This week I learned they're two different things and there was another brownout at Central Regional yesterday.

A brownout is when the power is out partially. Central Regional has had problems with this last year, during the summer, and now this week - just yesterday. The high school and the middle school closed early because of it.

Abs texted me this as she is in Central Regional District now:

Just a couple of questions we received and I'm wondering as a Mom, too - Why is this happening so much at Central? Why do the high school and the middle school both get affected? What can be done about this? Is it the heat? Does this happen at your school, also?

***Kevin Williams emailed Superintendent of Central Regional Schools Dr. Triantafillos Parlapanides. In the email, Dr. P. is very passionate about this and is trying everything to fix this. He is hoping to have a meeting with JCP&L to see how it can be fixed. Central Regional is on a bad grid that needs to be upgraded. He's also looking into generators for the district. Central has had six brownouts in the last couple of months.***

There you have it - we'll keep you posted about any brownouts in the future.
