OCEANPORT — A 26-year-old man from Stamford, Connecticut, who went missing after attending a party in a luxury Manhattan apartment, is believed to have been found dead in Monmouth County.

The body of Joseph Comunale was found in a wooded area behind the old police station in this Jersey Shore town, NBC 4 New York reported Wednesday.

Neither the NYPD nor the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office would confirm the discovery.

The Hofstra graduate was last seen 7:30 a.m. Sunday in Manhattan entering the Grand Sutton apartment building near the corner of East 59th Street and First Avenue.

NYPD carried bags of evidence from the building and said there were signs of foul play related to his disappearance, according to the NBC 4 New York report.

Friends said Comunale was not the type of person who got into trouble.
