Shocking Video Has An Important Winter Driving Message

As we get set to deal with our first snow of winter 2016-2017, it's a good time to remind Ocean County drivers of a few things that seem obvious and some others that you may not think of until it's too late.

This video, titled "Just Slow Down - Collateral Damage", produced by the Winnipeg Police Service seems like a standard public service announcement at first. The messages being; don't drive distracted, slow down in bad weather, and keep your eyes on the road.

It seems to be a video like any number of PSAs that we've seen before. It even borders on a little cheesy.

But that last split second changes the whole thing. Watch:

So don't forget, Ocean County, the kids may get a day off of school, you may get a day off of work, but our first responders are out on the roads no matter what.

Not only do you need to slow down and pay more attention when the weather get bad, but when you see flashing lights, always move out of the closest travel lane to allow them to do the work they need to do in the safest way possible!
