A Look at Secret Beaches Here in Ocean and Monmouth Counties
There is still plenty of summer left here in New Jersey and for many finding a nice quiet beach to relax and soak in some peace and quiet is just what we are looking for, problem is quite often many Jersey beaches are crowded because of their popularity.
So the question is where do we find a quiet beach to enjoy during summer here in New Jersey? Well, a recent article by New Jersey Digest gave several suggestions around the state. I decided to take the beaches recommended for us locally and focus on the "secret" beaches selected here in Ocean and Monmouth Counties.
You can find this quiet beach in Ocean County between Island Beach State Park and Barnegat Light on Long Beach Island. "Sedge Island is the epitome of a secret spot in New Jersey. Here, beautiful wetlands are thriving with wildlife and epic views."
Island Heights (Private Beach)
Located in Ocean County, NJ Digest said "This calm, slow-paced beach town is the perfect idea for a relaxing weekend, and that’s exactly what you get in Island Heights. Colorful waterfront homes, an old-fashioned vibe and even a yacht club all come with the charm of this lovely beach spot."
Spring Lake Beach
This is a quiet selection from Monmouth County. "Spring Lake Beach has a vibrant boardwalk, a two-mile stretch of beach and a stellar shopping scene on Third Avenue."
7 Bridges Road
This beach was not included by New Jersey Digest, I am personally adding this to the "secret" beach list because this one is definitely hidden from many. Situated between Southern Ocean County at Little Egg Harbor and Long Beach Island, this tiny piece of bay beach sits on the end of 7 Bridges Road next to the Rutgers University Marine Field Station. This is a quiet little beach that's a perfect place for a few quiet minutes away from the crowds.
