Rescue crews save a hunter and his dog marooned in the Shrewsbury River
Rescue crews in Sea Bright saved a hunter and his dog Thursday night after high winds blew their boat, marooning it on a small island in the Shrewsbury River.
The Sea Bright Fire Rescue Facebook page reported that Stations 43,33 and 25 were dispatched around 5 p.m. for a water rescue as well as Marine 43.
The man and his dog were located and safely returned to a marina shortly after 7 p.m., according to rescuers.
Someone apparently noticed the victim waving his harms to signal for help.
