Recognize him? Wanted in connection with Howell theft
HOWELL TOWNSHIP - A suitcase filled with clothes for a three-year-old is taken from a restaurant, and police have narrowed their search for a suspect. They hope that someone can help them identify him.
The incident occurred September 23, between 9 and 10 PM, in the Dynasty Asian Fusion restaurant in the Howell Center Plaza on Route 9 South, adjacent to Swingtime Mini-Golf.
Police said that the suitcase belonged to a restaurant worker, and the clothes belonged to her daughter. She was moving the clothes, and left it in the restaurant lobby for less than a half-hour, police said.
The suspect allegedly walked by, noticed the suitcase, stepped in, grabbed it and left the area in what appears to be a Toyota Yaris hatchback, or a similar make and model.
Police did not indicate whether searches of second-hand stores, flea markets, pawn shops or collection bin centers yielded any trace of the clothes or the luggage.
If you can help in the identification, e-mail Howell Detective Anthony Romano, or call him, 732-938-4575, extension 2879.
