RAMSEY — Ray Rice, a former Rutgers star who made headlines for assaulting his wife in an Atlantic City hotel elevator, could be on the sidelines of one of the elite high school programs this fall, though no formal agreement has been announced.

According to Sports Illustrated, Rice will join former Scarlet Knights teammate Mike Teel as the running backs coach for Teel's first season heading the program at Don Bosco Prep. The two were part of the resurgence of Rutgers football and both made it to the NFL after their college careers were over.

A report from CBS Sports said Rice was at the school on Monday to meet with Teel and the football team, but that "nothing is done," so far.

At 30-years-old, there had been talk since the February 2014 incident that he could find a home with another NFL team, but that never materialized. Though he was indicted on one count of third degree aggravated assault the charge was eventually dropped after he completed a pretrial intervention program.
