It's the first time in 87 years that the Radio City "Christmas Spectacular" starring the Rockettes, is canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

It's a family tradition for so many. This is just incredibly sad. Recently New York City announced, theaters will not open until 2021.

The scheduled dates to run was November 6th, 2020 - January 3rd, 2021. I remember so many years I would go with my family on a bus trip to New York City and see this show. It truly is "spectacular". I loved it as a child and continue to love it every year.

If you bought tickets already for this year's show, they will be refunded. It was announced yesterday that it will be canceled due to Covid-19. Those iconic dances like "Parade of the Wooden Soldiers", and so many more, I can't even imagine it being canceled. MSG Entertainment that owns Radio City Music Hall, home of the Rockettes, announced yesterday, "We are disappointed for everyone involved with the show, as well as for the many fans who make the Christmas Spectacular a cherished part of their holiday tradition."

The "Christmas Spectacular" has been seen by well over 75 million people since it's debut in 1933, according to cbsnews.com. MSG Entertainment also said yesterday, "We look forward to welcoming audiences back for the 2021 production, of which tickets are being sold now. Click here for tickets for 2021.

I can't even imagine not going to see this show this year, but more than my enjoyment of the show, I'm thinking of everyone that has lost their jobs through this. The many, many fantastic dancers and performers.

I always made sure to get tickets for a show in November, to get us in the "Christmas" spirit. Next year I'm sure will be back better than ever.
