A Rabbi is sitting in the Ocean County jail after driving around Lakewood for an hour and refusing to let a woman out of his car, according to NJ Advance Media.

Shmuel Rennert eventually let the woman go at her home.

He was arrested on Wednesday by Lakewood Police and charged with harassment, false Imprisonment and criminal restraint following the July 31 incident.

Rennert was being detained on Thursday in the Ocean County jail.

NJ Advance Media reported that Rennert is a Milwaukee resident but owns a home in Lakewood, according to public records.

It's not known how and if the Rabbi and woman knew each other and to what extent.
