Prosecutors seek 13-years for Red Bank man who killed firefighter
Monmouth County Prosecutors are recommending a 13-year prison sentence for the Red Bank man who admitted in court to fatally stabbing a volunteer firefighter in a street fight last year.
Demar Reevey, 23, of Red Bank, was charged with first degree Murder and third degree Possession of a Weapon (knife) for an Unlawful Purpose in connection with the death of Andrew Hill, 26, also of Red Bank.
Prosecutors reported that around 12:43 am on May 27, 2018, police received a 911 call reporting a stabbing victim in the area of Tilton Avenue and Bank Street in Red Bank.
Police found Hill who was transported to Riverview Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.
Reevey was apprehended at the same time.
The two men had been quarreling over Reevey's girlfriend before Hill was stabbed to death.
