Point Pleasant Man Charged in Kentucky Sex Assault Case
A Point Pleasant 35-year-old awaits extradition to Kentucky, charged with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in 2007.
Jonathan Ivins was apprehended at his Lawrence Avenue home at about 11:30 this morning, according to information from Ocean county Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato's office.
Ivins was the subject of a warrant issued by police in Newport, Kentucky, charging him with first-degree rape, authorities said.
Investigators said Ivins was 29 and living in Newport at the time of the incident. Point Pleasant police were sought by Kentucky authorities, according to Coronato's office.
Ivins is being held at the Ocean County Jail in Toms River, with bail set at $100,000.
