Plumsted stabbing suspect charged with murder
The Plumsted man accused of stabbing his wife to death before keeping police at bay outside his house for several hours Tuesday will be charged with murder and weapons possession counts.
Arthur Haskoor, 56, remains hospitalized, and Ocean County Superior Court Judge Wendel Daniels set his bail at $1 million, according to information from the office of County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato. The figure has no option for release on payment of 10 percent.
Initially flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune after being found unresponsive at the end of the standoff, Haskoor has been moved to Capitol Health Regional Trauma Center in Trenton.
He's listed in stable but critical condition in what authorities described as self-inflicted wounds. Sources connected to the investigation says that Haskoor ingested an overdose of drugs. That has not been confirmed through official channels.
