Another Popular Restaurant in New Jersey is Closing

I can't believe I heard this news and saw it on Facebook yesterday. It's true, I called the restaurant and they told me in their own words.

I was scrolling Facebook and saw an announcement that I couldn't believe. Although, it's not surprising. We can't say we're surprised anymore with all the closings everywhere.

What restaurant is closing in Ocean County?

Perkins in Forked River. They are located on Rt. 9. I know, I know the parking lot is usually empty, but I've come to love these employees in this restaurant.

Here's the deal, my husband and I would love going to Perkins and they always have 92.7 WOBM over the speakers, by the way. I appreciated that so much and they knew us and they knew where we liked to sit.

That totally sounds like we go out way to much to eat, but we did love Perkins. Perkins always had my favorite, chicken fried steak, it was always so delicious. I love it.

From the Facebook message I was reading, it meant a lot to a lot of people. Perkins has been there for so many years and lots of listeners grew up knowing Perkins was there and going there for their specialty baked pies.

I remember many times we would go to Perkins on Tuesday nights, I believe and they would have character night and my daughter, Abby would love it. We'd take friends and family all the time. It's sad to see all the places we loved for so many years close.

There was no reason for the closing but rumor has it, it will turn into an IHOP. I'll see if I can find out anymore information on that.

Today (Wednesday, October 2nd, 2024) is the last day. Perkins in Forked River closes their doors forever. Their hours are 8 am - 8 pm. I agree with the Facebook post, show your support, stop in today, grab breakfast, lunch, and dinner one last time.
