Pennsylvania man indicted for shooting man in the head at Seaside Heights, NJ motel
The Lebanon, Pennsylvania man who shot someone in the head that he was sharing a room with at the La Fontana Motel in Seaside Heights last summer, has been indicted by a Grand Jury in Ocean County.
Jose Serrano-Robles, 43, was indicted on Attempted Murder, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and Being a Certain Person Not to Possess Weapons, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer announced on Thursday.
Seaside Heights Police were first to the 911 call on August 16, 2021, around 2:00 am, after reports came in of gunshots being fired at the La Fontana Motel, and once inside they found a 51-year old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.
He was brought to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune where he was stable, then treated for his injuries and eventually released from the hospital.
The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit and Seaside Heights Police Detectives investigated the shooting and learned that Serrano-Robles and the man he shot were sharing a room at the La Fontana Motel as a result of a search, had two handguns.
Serrano-Robles shot the victim and then took off.
Seaside Heights Police Detectives found Serrano-Robles at the Bus Station in downtown Toms River a day later and arrested him without incident.
Serrano-Robles has been lodged in the Ocean County Jail since that date.
Prosecutor Billhimer announced that Ocean County Assistant Prosecutor Genna Moscato presented the case to the Grand Jury on behalf of the State.
