A 12-year-old boy sustained serious injuries when he collided with a car while riding his electric scooter in the area of Halsey Road and Quaker Road in Parsippany in Morris County.

According to reports, the accident occurred around 7:15 am on Wednesday. The boy was reported to have been wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The boy was rushed to Morristown Medical Center.
According to a Patch report, "Police said that the boy was riding his electric scooter westbound on Halsey Road when he crossed the double yellow line into oncoming traffic."
Tragic News As A New Jersey Teenager Is Found Dead
Reports indicate the boy was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. In addition, "The driver of the Subaru stayed at the scene of the crash. Officials said that the Subaru’s speed was not a contributing factor to the collision."
An investigation into the accident is continuing.
