An Ortley Beach man is in stable condition after being hit by a car while riding his bike along Route 35 south Wednesday night.

Kenneth Spinelli, 57, of the Ortley Beach section of Toms River was flown by medevac helicopter to Jersey Shore Medical Center with head injuries and is in stable condition.

Toms River Police say Spinelli was riding his bicycle crossing eastbound on Route 35 South when he was stuck by a 2003 Ford Taurus driven by 28-year old Christopher Serafin of Kenilworth.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation and there are no charges pending at this time.

The public is reminded that criminal charges are accusations only. Every criminal defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
