Few would argue that drug-related deaths have become an epidemic, and today a study was released showing just how hard Ocean County has been hit.

NJ.com released a far-reaching study that took a look at how drug deaths have impacted each of New Jersey's 21 counties.

It's not like we need a reminder that Ocean County had been hit hard by the drug crisis, but this study is a stark reminder of just how hard we've truly been impacted as compared to the rest of the state.

We're New Jersey's 6th most populous county, but for every 1,000 residents we have more drug-related deaths than only Atlantic County, at 4.27 according to the NJ.com study.

They also note that the change in only a year, from 2015 to 2016, is more than a 60% increase.

It's a pretty stunning look at just how badly Ocean County has been impacted by the scourge of drug overdoses. You can take a look at the full study by clicking here.
